Eligibility
The ladder is open to all David Lloyd members. A single ladder will be used initially, allowing all teams to compete within the same ranking structure.
Teams
Teams must consist of two registered players before joining the ladder. Players competing in a mixed team may also participate in a same-sex team; however, a separate player profile must be created for each team entered.
Challenges
Teams may arrange matches against any other team on the ladder by mutual agreement. In addition, teams may issue an official challenge to any team positioned up to four places above or below them in the rankings.
When issuing a challenge, the challenging team should propose three possible match dates and times. If the opposing team is unavailable for all proposed options, they must provide three alternative dates. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of the match. Teams have up to 30 days to arrange and complete a challenged fixture.
To encourage variety and fair competition, the same team may not be challenged more than once within a 60-day period.
Ranking System
Rankings are determined using the Elo rating system, which adjusts team ratings based on match results. Learn more about the Elo system here.
Activity Requirements
Teams that remain inactive for 90 consecutive days may be removed from the ladder.
Season
The current season will run until 21 December. At the conclusion of the season, prizes will be awarded and a new season will commence the following year.
Entry Fee
Participation in the ladder is free of charge.
